Littlehampton Harbour Board is committed to protecting harbour users, local residents and our staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. On 22nd February 2021, the Prime Minister set out the expected timescales for the lifting of restrictions in a 4-step “roadmap” for Spring 2021. On 2nd March British Marine and the Royal Yachting Association published further guidance for marine leisure (with UK government approval).

Since 17th May, we are now in “Step 3”, meaning that most restrictions applying to marine activities in Littlehampton Harbour are now lifted.

The standard nationwide social distancing and hygiene requirements continue to apply including onboard private vessels (see for latest details) until at least 21st June 2021.

Therefore the following specific restrictions remain applicable to marine leisure activities in Littlehampton:

  • Visiting yachts are now permitted on the harbour board’s Visitor Pontoon. The toilet facilities are now reopened but showers remain closed until at least 21st June. Rally bookings (with rafting) are considered but must not exceed 30 persons overall.
  • Indoors on boats: Persons in enclosed areas on board vessels (such as cabins or wheelhouses) should not exceed six persons OR a group of any size from 2 households.
  • Charter vessels, harbour ferries or water taxis with leisure passengers: It is up to the discretion of each individual operator to decide how many passengers their particular craft can operate with whilst allowing for ongoing national social distancing and hygiene requirements.
