Owners and/or masters of wrecked or abandoned vessels are fully liable for the costs of ensuring safety of navigation for others, removal and disposal of the vessel. Abandoned vessels of some value will be auctioned to cover costs in line with the Harbour’s powers under section 252 of the Merchant Shipping Act and section 56 of the Harbour, Docks and Piers Clauses Act 1847.

- Posted 5th March 2021: Monte Fino 62 – 18.9m project boat currently without propulsion that would make a good houseboat. Viewable from Pier Road in Littlehampton. Interior viewings by appointment. Realistic offers (that must include a clear and fully funded plan for her removal from the harbour by end-June 2021 via sea or road) should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org. The Harbour Office is in possession of estimates for her tow by sea or crane-out and escorted lorry haulage and these can be shared on request. Legitimate prospective buyers can call 01903 721 215 for an informal discussion.
Vessel has 2x Detroit engines, however it is assumed both require replacement. Shafts have also been removed and transom glassed over.
