It should be noted that any attempt to remove a vessel distrained under the terms of this Act is a Criminal Offence.
Harbour dues are payable in respect of all vessels entering, using or leaving Littlehampton Harbour.
In accordance with section 43 Harbour, Docks & Piers Clauses Act. non payment (evasion) of Harbour Dues will result in a three (3) times the fee payable.
The plaque that is issued as a receipt for payment of harbour dues must be affixed on the port side aft on the hull of the craft and the charge will be deemed not to have been paid unless the plaque has been so affixed.
Unless harbour dues are purchased and displayed within 4 weeks (the seventeenth of August 2009) your vessel will be sold under Section 44 of the Harbour, Docks and Piers Clauses Act 1847 to recover the full outstanding amount.
